The Prospect Development Centre

The Prospect Development Centre has been established by EUFAMI and the PROSPECT partners to continue supporting those who deliver the PROSPECT Training Programmes.

The Prospect Development Centre also enables and supports new Prospect partners. The Prospect Development "Centre" is a group of people who are very well qualified (by experience) to advise new partners how to use the programmes and to guide how it develops in the future by reviewing and updating the content of the Prospect Training Programmes.

The overall aim of the Prospect Development Centre is to make a practical contribution to on-going efforts in Europe to improve the quality of care for people with severe mental illness and strengthen support possibilities for their caring relatives and friends through the Prospect Training Programmes.

How can my organisation start to provide the Prospect Training Programmes?

If your organisation wants to provide the Prospect Training Programmes, it needs to make an agreement with the Prospect Development Centre. This will enable the Prospect Development Centre to support and help your organisation to deliver the Prospect Training Programmes through advice, experience and expertise.

However your organisation should consider the following tasks, which it may need to complete before it can deliver training:

  • the translation of the Prospect Training Programmes into your own national language
  • the design of your own language version of the Prospect Training Programmes
  • the translation of the available information resources into your own national language i.e. evaluation forms, guidelines and publicity leaflets
  • the selection and training of your own people to facilitate the Prospect Training Programmes
  • organising a national Prospect Test Training Session
  • delivering the Prospect Training Programmes
  • providing a national contact person for the Prospect Development Centre who would also participate in any international  meetings organised
I’ve heard about the Prospect Training Programmes but how do I get the Prospect Training myself?

To ensure the highest quality of training, the Prospect Training Programmes are only delivered by approved organisations supported by the Prospect Development Centre.

If you live in a country which has an existing Prospect Partner organisation:

Then you should contact that organisation and ask about their Prospect Training events. There is a list of Prospect Partners within this leaflet but this could have changed so please check first with the Prospect Development Centre Coordinator.

If you live in a country with no existing Prospect Partner organisation, but you belong to an organisation that may be able to become a Prospect Partner and provide training:

Then please discuss the possibility of this within your organisation and then your organisation can contact the Prospect Development Centre Coordinator. (Please use the list of tasks stated previously as a checklist for discussions)

If you live in a country with no existing Prospect Partner organisation and you do not belong to any organisation:

We suggest you ask your local provider of mental health services about possibilities for the Prospect Training Programmes to be delivered. They may be able to become a Prospect Partner organisation.
